Park History
Battista Venera and his family migrated from Italy to Cle Elum in the early 1900’s. For 30 years (1918 to 1943), the Maple Dairy operated by Battista Venera and his family, served the communities of Roslyn, Ronald, South Cle Elum, and Cle Elum. In the early beginnings, they only had 20 milk cows and as the need grew, they built they herd to 90 cows that have to be milked twice a day. After milking the cows were herded back and forth out to open rangeland behind the family, farm which is part of where this park is today. Battista’s grandchildren to great, great grandchildren are still living in Cle Elum and Kittitas County.
Play Structure The play structure features swings, a slide, and a suspension bridge, sand area, toss up game, digger toy and a 4 square and hopscotch area.
Basketball & Horseshoes
A basketball court and horseshoe pits are available for your use.
Battista Meadow
The meadow can be used for a number of activities from a field game to a family picnic.
Restrooms and Parking There is a parking lot, bike racks and a restroom conveniently located at the park.
